A Troo Guide to Gut Health
Having a healthy gut can help to protect you against disease and support both your physical and mental health.
Before we get into the whys, let’s start with a very important what. When we talk about the gut, we are referring specifically to the gut microbiome. The microbiome is the collective name for more than 10,000 species of bacteria which can be found in the gut. These bacteria even have their own genes, which outweigh human genes by 100:1.
You might think that you just need to eat the right stuff to get a healthy gut and whilst food is an integral aspect in helping to look after your gut microbiome, it’s also important to understand how exercise, sleep and reducing your stress can impact on the health of your gut.
If you haven’t already guessed, we’re sort of obsessed with gut health and we want you to be too so we’ve got some great blogs which should help you learn some interesting stuff but hopefully put some of the tips, suggestions and advice into action.
